Keum boo is a beautiful and ancient Korean technique of applying gold foil to the surface of silver to give pattern and a flush colour contrast. 

On this one-day course, we will show you the technique of applying gold foil to your pieces including good preparation and finishing processes. For keum boo, the silver needs to be either fine silver or sterling which has been repeatedly annealed and pickled. All soldering needs to have taken place before applying the gold foil. You can either prepare your own work in advance, or use the fine silver sheet available on the day.
