Rub-over setting of cabochon stones is the ideal place to start, when it comes to learning how to set gemstones in your jewellery. In this informative workshop you will be shown step-by-step how to make and perfect your bezel setting in silver. Techniques covered will include shaping your fine silver bezel, soldering and setting. Soldering a fine silver bezel to the base sheet can be tricky, but in this course Olivia shares her tips and tricks for making the solder flow with ease around the base of your bezel.

You will be able to choose from a variety of cabochon gemstones to work with, or you can bring your own. Sea glass can be used instead of a cabochon stone, so if you are a keen collector of sea glass, please bring along your stash and we can help you choose a suitable piece to set.

The silver, a cabochon gemstone and a fine chain are included in the course fee. Tea, coffee & biscuits and a lovely picnic-style lunch are also included - making it a lovely treat of a day!
