Materials
Bring your own silver scrap to use on the course, or buy casting grain on the day. Silver used on the day should be between £15 and £50 depending on the weight of your casts. Cubic zirconia stones are included in the Delft Casting with Stones workshop.

Comprehensive Delft Casting

The brilliant technique of delft casting opens up exciting new possibilities for any jeweller. Delft casting is a fantastic way to enable makers to replicate forms simply, in their own workshop, without needing to send pieces to a casting company.
In this extensive workshop, as well as covering the basics of delft casting, we will go far beyond with advanced techniques. You will learn ways to improve your cast success rate and how to modify your mould before casting to add pattern, texture, jump rings and more! With the right techniques, you can be creative with your designs, using delft to make innovative pieces and make many more forms possible.
This day promises to be fun, exciting and informative and you will leave with a comprehensive understanding of delft casting techniques.
You can either clean up and finish your pieces in your own studio or weekly class, or book onto one of our Taster Days to complete your pieces.

We get asked about this technique by students so often, and now we can finally show you how in this exciting course!
This workshop follows on perfectly from the Comprehensive Delft Casting workshop the day before, although if you already have a good knowledge of delft casting you can book this one-day course individually.
Delft casting with gemstones in place is a wonderful way to add sparkle to your pieces, with very little effort! On this course we will show you how to delft cast with gemstones inside your mould, so they are set without you even having to take a drill to your creation.
We will show a variety of techniques, each giving a different look and setting style to your pieces. You can either clean up and finish your pieces in your own studio or weekly class, or book onto one of our Taster Days to complete your pieces.
