Children’s Workshops
Designed for children aged 8 and up, these workshops make a great Christmas gift for crafty little ones. Usually booked before Christmas, we then post you a voucher to put under the tree for your child. £65 per child, price includes all materials. Children must be accompanied by an adult (tea and coffee provided for the adults, squash and biscuits for the little ones).
This year children will be making a cute little silver turtle, which can become either a pandant or a keyring. Children will be using the rolling mill and cutting punches to create the turtle’s body, as well as texturing punches to create a pattern on the shell. They will then need to solder a jump ring onto the turtle so it can be hung from a chain or keyring. Soldering can be done by the child or by the tutor, we will judge their abilities and confidence as we go along.
Our children’s and teens workshops are led by tutor Gwen Roff. As well as being a jewellery & silversmithing tutor for us at Meon Valley Studio, Gwen is an experienced art teacher, teaching secondary level children as well as having primary aged children of her own.
