Mitsuro Hikime Workshop

Immerse yourself in this liberating 5-hour workshop where you will explore one of the most ancient lost wax jewellery making techniques from Japan. Mitsuro Hikime —mitsu (honey), ro (wax), hiki (drawing), and me (texture)—combines pine resin and beeswax, making it perfect for bringing your intricate designs to life.

In this class, all tools and materials for the wax are provided (casting/metal cost is additional). Students will all make their wax together with Stelios during the course, and use it to create intricate, organic flowing designs. Once your piece is complete and you’re satisfied with the results, you can either:

  • Send it to a casting company yourself (we can recommend casting companies), then refine and finish the piece in your own workshop or weekly class, or by booking into one of our Taster Days

  • Allow us to send it off to be cast on your behalf, and finish it off for you when it comes back, and a small additional fee

Whichever option you choose, you’ll go home with 40g of wax to practice at home! If you need more mitsuro hikime wax for your at-home practice, you can buy it online from Stelios.
