Learn how to bring your jewellery designs to life in a single day!

Join jewellery illustrator and goldsmith Eleanor Clifford for a vibrant, one-day workshop that reveals the art of jewellery illustration with gouache and watercolours. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a designer looking to refine your presentation skills, this intensive session gives you everything you need—no painting experience required.

You’ll start by getting hands-on with the essential tools: professional brushes, rich pigments, and the right papers to make your work shine. Then, through a series of guided projects, you’ll master key techniques to create stunning, client-ready illustrations.

• Rendering transparent and opaque cabochons

• Using different watercolour properties and techniques to create patterned gemstones such as lapis lazuli, moss agate, amber and labradorite.

• Rendering faceted gemstones

• Using gouache paints to render precious metals

• Complete a rendering of a finished pendant design

The morning session is all about gemstones; the afternoon, precious metals. By the end of the day you’ll combine every skill into a complete, hand-rendered jewellery design—ready to impress clients or elevate your portfolio.

Walk away with professional techniques, a beautiful finished rendering, and the confidence to illustrate your own jewellery creations with flair.

Your Tutor
Eleanor Clifford is a jewellery illustrator and goldsmith who entered the industry in 2012 and graduated from Birmingham School of Jewellery in 2017.

Whilst gaining experience in both bench jeweller and designer roles, Eleanor discovered her love of traditional rendering techniques, developing her style over the years using a combination of watercolour and gouache. Stemming from this, she's become an avid collector of paints and loves exploring how different pigment properties can be utilised for little quick rendering ‘hacks’.
